Wedding Photographers Northern Ut
I realized the other day that my all of my oldest sons best friends have had siblings that got married and I was lucky enough to be their photographer. I’m so lucky that my son picked awesome kids with amazing families to be friends with.
Kennedy’s mom Trinity is an amazing photographer. She helps me talk my kids dance photos and gets better cross county pictures than me. No joke I love her photos. She took their engagements and formals but I was lucky enough to take their wedding day photos. And lucky for me Trinity is way laid back and happy with whatever we could get with photos for one big reason. THE WIND. Oh my heck the wind! I’ve shot weddings in the wind but his wind was different. It was hot! Like really hot wind. So not only was hair flying everywhere no matter where we hid around the building but it was hot! We did our best.
We tried to move to the side of the temple for relief from the wind. It didn’t work. Then, and I’m not kidding, the SPRINKLERS CAME ON. On my bride! And her family! On a Friday at 1 pm! I mean it sometimes happens in the evening around Utah State (they always have sprinklers on I swear) and sometimes around the temple in the summer in the evening. But not durning the day! During a June wedding on the weekend! I guess they were testing sprinklers they said? Kennedy just laughed about it luckily. And we ran away from the water and didn’t get too wet. The videographer and I were dying. I couldn’t believe it.
I want to talk about something for a minute. I got to the temple early, walked around the whole thing trying to decide the best place for photos with the sun and wind. But weather changes a ton. And it’s hard to move a huge wedding group to the other side of the temple just to have the wind worse and move them back. So photographers are making judgment calls constantly and we do our best. I tried to find a place to hide from the wind- a place that usually works well for that- and it didn’t help.
When we got to the groom Jackson’s family we did go around to the other side of the temple. And the wind was better there. And I felt so bad! SO bad. Had I known we would have gone there and missed the sprinklers and hot wind a little. But Trinity was so amazing about it. And Kennedy. I did my best with what I knew at the time. And they would laugh at me saying this but I regret not moving.
Their wedding reception was at the grooms Jackson’s parents house. Their home is amazing! Honestly it would be my husbands dream. The weather was much better and the barns and the yard with the perfect place for a reception. A new trend I’m seeing, and they did this, was getting a bounce house. I love this idea! I know my kids hate receptions (most kids do) and to have a bounce house at it was so fun for the kids. Of course Kennedy and Jackson took their turn in the bounce house.
I see a lot of first dances. I love first dances and super regret not doing them at my wedding. It’s rare that the couples can dance this well! Especially Kennedys dad! He had her spinning and dipping all over the place. It was adorable and I loved it.
I huge shot out to my friend Trinity. She did most of the flowers and decorating for the wedding. I loved the wedding colors! So different than what everyone does and the bridesmaids dresses were stunning! I love that contract in color. I’m so lucky to be a photographer. I get to be apart of such amazing events.
I shouldn’t love this pictures but I do. Her little nephews hair kills me.
