Utah Extended Family Photographers- Last summer it took a long time to warm up around here. I know everyone keeps saying how warm our winters have been but that hasn’t been the case for Cache Valley! I had a lot of sessions planned for Tony Grove in the summer and I was watching daily the snow level slowly go down. Tony Grove is such high elevation that it’s common to have snow there until the end of June! Some years the flowers are coming out July 1st but this year it was much later than normal.
That ended up working perfectly for this family. The flowers were AMAZING when we went up for their extended family session. They were having a family reunion and met me in Tony Grove for their pictures. Doesn’t this family look like they could be starlight out of a magazine? Every one of them were gorgeous!
With little kids you always have to kind of follow their lead. One of the little boys feel down and just wasn’t happy until he could get a bandaid. It was worth taking a little extra time to help him get the bandaid! One of the outtakes from their session (I always try to grab a few) was when I told the kids to pull faces at grandma and grandpa to get them to smile. I usually do this to keep the kids engaged in the session and because they enjoy it! The kids were cracking me out so much with their silly faces. I’m sure it really did help grandma and grandpa to smile.
One of my favorite pictures I took all last year is of their beautiful older granddaughter. She was bent down smelling one of the flowers and looked up at me. She is such a beautiful little girl! I just love that photo.
