I’ve been very lucky to have photographed all my nieces and nephews weddings so far. And one of the reasons I love it so much is I get to know their fiancee! Our family is really close and we do a lot together. So I love getting to know the new member of the family. This one was especially fun because we drove together to the location.
I have never shot at Antelope island before. Which is crazy to be a photographer and never have shot there before honestly. Everyone goes there! Well with the way I run my business I don’t usually travel a long way to do sessions because it’s hard to leave my family that long. But this was the off season and it was my niece! And she really wanted to go there. So they picked me up and we headed out. Honestly I was excited to see what all of the fuss was about.
Antelope island is so unique! And full of people. We got there a little early so we got some awesome spots. Which helped! And no one fell on the rocks which was even a bigger bonus.
All couples are totally different. Some are super lovey and you don’t even have to tell them what to do. They almost pose themselves! Others it isn’t as natural for them to be all lovey and PTA. So when I asked Madison and Quaid to kiss she got all nervous and kissed them and then said “Heather I have never kissed him in front of people before!” We all laughed. I’m sure it made it especially weird to be kissing for the first time in public to be in front of your weird aunt. I told her she had to get over it because it was my job to watch people kiss and hug. Which is weird to say but honestly true.
So if you are the kind of couple that doesn’t love PDA don’t worry! Trust the process. I know how to pose you and hopefully you feel super comfortable in front of the camera. Like my couples always do by the end!
