Old Rock Church Wedding- Providence Utah
Back in the fall of 2020 my area had the craziest wind storm! It’s pretty rare to have hurricane force winds but this night we had them. We live in a valley in the middle of the rocky mountains and at the top of Providence Canyon the wind was 90 MPH. I know at my house we lost 4 trees in that storm. It looked like a war zone. The insurance company considered it a category 2 hurricane that blew my trees down. It took days to clean up. It’s sad to loose trees that took us 15 years to grow! And in the mist of cleaning up I thought of Ember- my bride later that week. Getting married at the Old Rock Church in Providence that is surrounded by 100 year old trees. I wondered if they were still standing! Or was the building hit with one of them! When I drove by later that day I was so relieved to see all of the trees were still standing around the building. They had a ton of branches down but nothing they couldn’t clean up.
Ember and Joseph met on their missions. I can’t tell you how many couples I’ve had who met this way! Don’t worry- it was after they got home that they reconnected and started dating. They chose the Old Rock Church to get married in and the day couldn’t have gone better. I love first looks- but there is something really special about when a groom sees his bride for the first time walking down the aisle.
I do like the old rock church but one thing always makes me laugh. The bridal suite is HUGE. And so beautiful! It has all of these mirrors beautiful lights. The grooms room? Is a closet. Like literally a closet. I mean the building was built so long ago so it is what it is. And honestly if someone deserves the big room it’s the brides.
I’m so glad the grounds were ok after that wind storm because their wedding was so beautiful outside. They had the whole wedding outside and the weather was perfect. I especially love receptions at night! The lights outside make for such a romantic wedding reception!
I think my favorite thing about this wedding besides how awesome this couple was – was their families! Josephs sisters were so much fun! I loved both of their families.
