Northern Utah Wedding Photographers- Most of the time when take formal pictures of a couple I also take their wedding day photos as well. Every once in awhile the couple is getting married out of town and need formals here and that’s where I come in. That is exactly what happened with this couple. They were getting married in Idaho Falls but wanted some formal pictures before. In this case I wasn’t able to meet with them before so when I showed up to the shoot I was meeting them for the first time. The hard part with that was we were doing a first look right off the bat!
Because Shelby was a little early I had a change to chat with her for a little bit and get to know her but not Mark. But as soon as I met Mark I only got to chat with him for a couple of minutes and got him all set up for their first look. First looks are so stressful for the groom and I was wishing I had a few more minutes to get him comfortable with me before we started. Grooms are almost always nervous! We kind of put them on the spot during a first look and I didn’t have a lot of time to reassure him however he reacted would be the perfect reaction because it always is. The moment he say Shelby I could tell all of his nerves went away.
Can I just say that I absolutely love first looks? And theirs was so adorable! Mark kept hugging her then looking at her then hugging her again. I just stood back and let them have their moment while capturing it all. It was the best way to start their session. All the nerves are gone after that and they were already relaxed.
My two favorite things about them- the way Mark looked at Shelby and the way Shelby smiled at him. I kept telling them they were just like models people hire for styled shoots. They were so easy to photograph! Honestly by the end of their session I was so sad I wasn’t able to be help them photograph their wedding in Idaho Falls! That photographer was so lucky!
Mark runs cross country for USU and so does Shelbys sister. Well last December she talked Mark into asking her sister on a date while she was home from school and the rest is history! We teased her sister that she will be able to hold it over their heads forever that she was the reason they were together!
What a honor to meet these two. I seriously get to photograph the best people!
Also her beautiful dress was from Latter Day Bride. It fit her perfectly and was gorgeous!
