I grew up in a little town outside of Boise, Idaho. I haven’t lived there for 18 years but I have a lot of friends there still. When I posted Ashley and Han’s engagement photo on my instagram feed a lady who I grew up by was like hey I know her! She had since moved from my hometown and lived around the corner from Ashely just outside of Boise. Seriously? Small world!
We knew we wanted to do their formals at Tony Grove because I mean come on. It’s so beautiful. The trick was we wanted to do a first look there so we had to be tricky about it. We ended up having three cars go up and Ashley had her sister there to help as well. Side note- her sister was the brides made for my sweet bride Katie back and May! That is how Ashley found me. She had helped with Katie’s formals as well so she was used to me by now haha.
We got to the spot I wanted to use for their first look and I got Han’s in his spot. Ashley had a note she wanted him to read before she saw him. I have no idea what it said but it set the mood so perfect! I’ve totally mentioned it to other brides because it’s such a perfect way to set up a first look.
Hans had one of the best reactions to a first look all year. He cheered and I loved it. I can tell how much these two enjoy being together. He is always making her laugh. It’s one of my favorite things about them. And she makes he him happy. I love the way he looks at her. So enjoy one of my favorite formal sessions of the year.
