Logan Utah Photographer- Year in Review 2020
I don’t have to tell you what a crazy year this was. I had many weddings, baptism, family and senior sessions on my calendar for the spring last March then the world stopped. At first I figured it would be a couple of weeks then we would be back in business but then it wasn’t. I was paralyzed! I didn’t feel like working at all- no blogging or anything. I could have got so much done.
I got to the point where I was ok with the fact that my business wasn’t going to do as well. But then April hit. And by the end of the month I started doing senior sessions because it was easy to say 6 feet apart from my clients. After that my business started to boom.
The biggest change in my business this year has been for weddings. Where most wedding photographers around the country had everyone cancel their weddings not one of my couples canceled. They just learned to pivot. Oh my poor couples! I only had one wedding that wasn’t impacted with the pandemic because it was in January. I had a few weddings that only had 8 people in attendance. Couples that had to completly change all of their plans last minute to make it work. One sweet couple moved their wedding up by 6 weeks and pulled it all together in just a few days. Thankfully they did because the temples closed just a few days later!
One blessing for me but not as much for my couples was being able to do so many sessions with them. When they had to get married civility because temples were closed I got to be with them again when they were able to be sealed. Oh man I LOVED those sessions. It’s so fun to be able to be with my couples again. I miss them when they get married!
I’m so grateful that even though the world seemed to stop I was still able to capture milestones in peoples lives. Couples still got married, kids got baptized, seniors graduated from high school. Let’s hope next year will allow us to have more people around us when we celebrate!
