My oldest son was 8 months old when my husband started his first semester of college. I was a stay at home mom by then and he worked full time and went to school. So he took it very slowly to be able to get everything done that was on his plate. And it was a lot! His last finals he took for his bachelors degree was the DAY I had our 4th son. I’m not kidding. He was born at 7 am and Bryan left for his final at 11.
Years later he decided to go back to get his MBA. Which honestly was huge because my husband doesn’t love school at all. Again he went slowly though the program so he was still around for his family.
Out of our 18 years married he has spent 10 in school. It has been a huge part of our life. But he refused to participate in a graduation ceremony. He hates that sort of thing. So we had a deal- if he didn’t do the ceremony he had to let me take his photos. It was a big deal to me to have something that felt like hey I graduated! I had to put a few of his photos in this post because I’m so proud of him!
I have to be honest- I really loved going to Utah State back in the day. My degree is in elementary education and my college years were some of the best of my life. The friends I made in my program are life long friends.
I always like to do a couple of things for gradation photos. I usually start around Old Main to get the iconic USU photos. On the A statue and with Old Main behind them (if we can). We get some in their cap and gown but I also like to get some regular head shots of them as well.
Since they are going out into the business world and a lot of times need a profession head shot. If they bring their spouse I try to get one of them together too! Because as a wife a guy who did every year a college he has had married to me I know how much work it all is for the spouse too!
I knew I wouldn’t ever get to doing separate posts for each senior here so I decided to make it one big post. These were all students gradating from Utah State with either their bachelors or Masters degrees.
