I was really looking forward to this session. After taking their engagement photos a few months before I knew how fun this was going to be. And we were going to my all time favorite location- Tony Grove! Tony grove in the summer has my heart. I just love being in the mountains anyway but being in the mountains for a beautiful formal wedding session? It’s heaven.
So a little personal story. My grandma who I was extremely close with died the end of December of 2021. My family always celebrated her birthday together and it was always a big deal. We ended up having to schedule this session on her birthday. At the time nothing was planned but then my mom and her sisters decided to do something with the family to celebrate still. I knew I couldn’t move this session because they were getting married soon and either they would be gone or me. So I went. And when I got up to Tony Grove I had the sweetest feeling. Tony’s was my Grandmas favorite place! And we used to drive up there and have a picnic on her birthday. So It felt so right that I was there. Especially with Hailey and Jay! They are seriously two of my fav people.
I never know how first looks are going to go. They are always fun and I always get great photos of it. Sometimes the grooms really surprise me. I had no idea Jay was going to be emotional. And oh how I love when grooms do! He was so sweet. It always makes me with I had a first look with my husband. That just wasn’t a thing then.
I think the wedding style should fit the bride. And this dress was beyond perfect to Hailey! I don’t even know how to explain it. It just was so her. And I loved it so much! Her sister Ally put together her wedding bouquet. Ally was my bride from 2020 and the poor girl puts up with a lot of gardening and flower questions from me. The bouquet she made was so cool and unique! I loved it so much!
