One thing I love the most about my job is serving my friends. I am good friends with this guys parents and they go to my same church. They have only lived by us for a few years and I’m so happy we get to be around his their family. They are so fun to be around. His mom is even the saint of a teacher for my little 5 year old boy this year!
This is Jackson. He graduated last spring from high school and was actually one of my first sessions during quarantine. By the end of April it was apparent that students weren’t going back to school but kids were still graduating from high school. I felt like they still deserved senior pictures after everything that has happened to them. And luckily saying 6 feet from clients for senior pictures is easy. No dress to adjust, no little kid I need to help with. I was really fortunate and every senior session on my books didn’t cancel their session. We had to reschedule which made the end of April and beginning of May really crazy! But we made it and I’m so thankful.
When we did Jacksons senior session he was sill waiting for his mission call. In fact what usually takes a week or two took WEEKS. And everyday he would wake up wondering if today was the day. Honestly it had to be horrible waiting that long. Finally his call came – South Africa! Currently he is on the East coast of the US waiting to get over to his original call. With current restrictions it looks like it will wait a little longer. Hopefully he will be able to serve his original mission very soon!
Congrats on graduating high school and leaving on your mission! I know you are going to do amazing things!
