Logan UT Photographers- I am 100% sure I’ll never forget this wedding. Not only did they have the most epic exit at a reception ever I also went home with my dress (and me) soaking wet. Best reception ever!
I’ve known Kenna for almost 15 years. She was just a little girl when I got to know their family. To say I love her family is a understatement. Her mom is one of my very best friends and my husband and her dad are good enough friends we even named my 4th son Brett after him. I always laugh that we pretty much are members of the McEvoy family because we come to family parties sometimes and everything.
When Kenna got home from her mission one of the elders (Kayden) working in the office started writing her. He got home from his mission about a week before she left to live in Hawaii and go to school. They kept in touch all last fall until she came home for Christmas break. It was then that they decided they didn’t want to date anyone else and got a little more serious. There are a few people who Covid made things work out better for and this couple is one of them. She had to move home in March and was able to be closer to Kayden. We all could see where it was going but it took them a few more months to see what we all saw. They were absolutely perfect for each other. He is just the right amount of calm for her crazy.
I was lucky enough to be hiding in the bushes with my camera when he proposed. We also did engagements and formals but for now I’ve got to show off their amazing reception and wedding! Because the time they had for their sealing was so late they did the reception the night before at the Logan golf course country club.
Kennas bouquet was one of the most amazing ones I’ve seen. It was so unique! The Hawaii feel to them and the colors made it so amazing. Lees Marketplace once again hit it out of the park with their florals.
I loved how both of their moms had the same dress. And Kenna wanted photos with both of them a few times.
Off Premise Catering did the food and I was nothing but impressed with their employees. I’ll get to that in a minute.
Right in the middle of everyone eating and greeting guests the sprinklers came on! And the golf course had huge sprinklers! It just soaked everything! There was just really one that got us and it hit the tents mostly. It did get her cake a little but didn’t ruin it thankfully! Remember how I was impressed with the catering company? One of their employees ran over and moved the sprinkler out of the way and then put a bucket on it. He was absolutely soaked. Like dripping wet!
The first dances were some of my favorite part of the reception. It started really calm with Kayden dancing with his sweet mom and Kenna with her dad. Then the music started to pick up and Kayden carried his mom off the dance floor. Kenna and her dad started dancing and it was amazing.
The couple then started their first dance together and I honestly had tears in my eyes when I saw Kenna tear up as well.
Kenna loves dancing so of course the reception had to have a dance party!
I was standing with the videographer on the edge of the dance floor when the craziest part of the night happened. I was photographing everyone dancing when about a foot behind me the dang sprinkler kicked back on! It shot me and the videographer right in the butt with water. We were soaked! Like dripping wet! And here came that poor caterer getting wet yet again to cover the water up.
When I was talking to Kenna before the wedding she told me they wanted to have a epic exit. So they decided to to do a slip and slide under the sparklers. And I said of course they are! I had them go a few times which or course they were happy to do. Then a lot of their guests started going down as well.
Kenna stepped on something that went into her foot. Kayden wants to be a dr and he was helping her fix that up.
And of course she was still on the dance floor soaking wet with a wrap around her foot.
Kayden and Kenna were sealed in the Payson temple the next day at 6pm. I have never been to this temple and was amazed at how beautiful it is!
It has been such a long time since I have been on the temple grounds. It’s really been since March that I have set foot around the temple. It was just what I needed honestly! To be taking pictures around the temple again was so good for my soul!
Per the rules they only had a small group of people in their sealing. It was just their parents and grandparents.
I have to end by saying how grateful I am that I got to be this couples photographers. I know they could have hired pretty much anyone and photos are really important to them so to be able to be with them on their big day was humbling! I just think the world of these two. I’ve loved Kenna forever and to see how well Kayden and her fit together makes me so happy. A match made in heaven for sure!
