Logan Temple Wedding Photographer|Temple Weddings
Do you know what my biggest regret of my wedding was? The photography. We hired someone to do a few formal pictures of us and I wasn’t very thrilled with them. I can never get that back! As tempting as it is to just have your friend with a nice camera take your pictures it’s one of the very few things you can take away from that day.
For this blog post I’m going to go over what a typical wedding day looks like for a temple wedding. I took 4 weddings I had at the Logan Temple this year to show some examples.
My main goal on your wedding day is to get through all of your group photos quickly and efficiently. No one wants to be posting for pictures for hours! To achieve this I send a list of all of my usual group photos before your wedding. I have the bride and groom go over it together and let me know what to add and take away from their list. Sometimes we move things around but most of the time my couples are good with the order we have it. I’m always flexible to add things the day of but I love having my couples decide before hand what photos are the most important to them.
Each one of these couples had me take their formals and wedding day pictures on separate days. I highly recommend this for a lot of reasons. You can never predict the weather on your wedding. Some of these were after a big rain storm and some of them were when it was almost 100 degrees. When we pick the day and time to take your formal pictures we can make sure you have the best lighting and weather conditions possible. Also your wedding day is already busy and crazy! To take away the majority of your formal pictures helps the day run smoother and on time. My favorite reason is that my couples get to know me better! They are much more comfortable when they know and it helps them to know that they are in good hands.

Here is an example of some of the photos I take on wedding days.
THE EXIT- My favorite part. Since I cannot be in your sealing to see your excitement the next best thing is when you step out of the temple as husband and wife. The excitement and happiness on your faces can’t be duplicated. It’s my favorite part of the day.
Then I take all photos of all of your friends and family greeting you.
As soon as we can get to the stairs (or other location suitable around the temple) I start your group photos. First we do everyone who came to support you.
I then go into photos of each side of the family. So everyone there for the Groom and everyone there for the Bride.
Next I start with usually the Brides side of the family and do their individual family pictures. This changes depending on the needs of the couple.

I have a silly tradition were I take a selfie with my wedding couples. I have only missed one couple this year I think! I may look a little tried and hot (or wet from rain!) but I always feel like my couples are my friends by the end of their wedding!
These are just a small taste of what temple weddings look like. We also take a few formals the day of as well. Here are the couples formal sessions for you to see as well!
