Engagement Photographer Logan Utah – I remember the day I met these two. I was 22 years old and teaching 4th grade. It was the first day of school and I was nervous to meet my class for the first time. I was also praying that I wouldn’t throw up because I was 4 months pregnant and still extremely morning sick. Konner was the kid who was a little mischievous and would be happy sitting in the back of the classroom. Emily said she remembers him being a little naughty but now that I have 5 boys I just remember him being very much a little boy haha. Emily was the student that was so stinking smart and always kind. She was the sit in the front of the classroom and help poor old Mrs. Palmer spell things on the board because I stink at spelling so much. True story.
I loved being their 4th grade teacher. I have so many wonderful memories of that year. Ironically when we were talking bout that school year they don’t remember very much at all! They remember the water bottles I got all of them and some reading rewards I did with them. They don’t remember some of the hards days I had teaching or a few of the other little things. But they remember how much they loved my class. Which is all I needed to hear for sure.
Emily and Konner may have met in my class but they didn’t start dating until high school. They have been dating for years now and Emily even graduated from college now! So they have come a long way from my class! I’ve been watching them date for years (from social media) hoping that one day I could take pictures of them. When they got engaged I remember asking my husband if it would be weird if I sent her a message her. I don’t want people to ever feel like they HAD to hire me. Especially if they like a different photography or editing style then my own so I chickened out. Which worked out because she messaged me. I literally squealed out loud. I was so happy.
We did their engagements at Zollinger tree farm in River heights. I knew Konner enough to know that he was going to take some warming up to give me a real smile and I was totally right. He kept calling me Mrs. Palmer which cracks me up because they are now older then I was when I was their teacher. It was an absolute ball to see them again and spend some time with them. Look for their wedding to be posted on my blog coming soon!
My cute class. Konner is on the back row and Emily is in the front right.
