I was looking forward to Alisa and Brittens formals for awhile for a lot of reasons. One of which is that my sister in law Heather (who is also Alisa’s older sister) was going to be in town from back east and was coming along with us! Not only is her name also Heather Palmer, she is a photographer as well. So it was nice to have someone with a eye for photography helping me out. I’ll add a couple of her cell phone pics at the end of me “looking sweet” (aka being a nerd while taking pictures) for your enjoyment as well.

Alisa knew she wanted most of her formals as the Logan Temple but she asked if we could do their first look somewhere else. I was racking my brain to think of the best place to do that so we could be close enough to do both. Since we had just taken Heather’s family pictures in green canyon we decided to start there since it was close to all of us. It was really dusty though but we were prepared with stuff to put under her dress. I loved their first look! He was so happy when he saw her. They are so adorable together.

Sidenote- Green canyon used to be one of my favorite spots for pictures. I say used to be because the forest service came in and cut down ALL THE TREES. All of them! It looks so awful! Anyway I’m still a little bitter about it.

I absolutely loved Alisa’s flowers. She had Lees marketplace do them. They were amazing! I just loved them. I’ve had so many brides use them for their flowers and I’ve been so impressed every time. I also thought her dress was absolutely perfect for her. I loved it!

What an amazing time of year to get married. I swear the flowers couldn’t get any prettier then they do. With the wildfires going on still the sky was so beautiful at sunset. I had told them we were all done but then I saw the sunset. I had them hurry to the other side of the temple to get one last shot of the sunset. It ended up being one of my favorites of the day. When I got home that evening my husband was like why did it take you so long? Seriously I was having so much fun we just kept going.

I was going to put their wedding day photos on this post too but I had too many favorites haha! So those will have to come another day.

And for those who stuck with this long post this long here is me doing whatever I need to to get the shot. I pretty much am willing to look at dumb as I need to to get the job done. Apparently!

This is one of my favorite shots. But the only way to get it the way I want is to lay on the ground. Like I said- looking dumb to get the shots I need. I do what it takes haha.
