Sam was a small child when I moved in their area. His parents have been our good friends for many years. In fact about 8 years ago our families took a trip to yellowstone together. I’m just realizing how young Sam was when we did that! His dad and my husband played church basketball for years. We knew we could always count on them if we every needed any help. They are some of my very favorite people. It’s almost been 4 years ago now that we found out his dad had cancer. It wasn’t long after that he passed away. To say Sam has been though a lot the last few years is a understatement! His mom is one of the strongest people I know to be raising her kids on her own for the last few years.
Sam just graduated from high school so a month before graduation we got some senior picture taken. At the time he didn’t have his mission call but his papers were in. We made sure to get a bunch of mission photos during his session. He has been called to Peru and leaves next month! He is going to be a awesome missionary. He is such a kind and hardworking kid.
He played soccer for his high school. Last year his team took state! We actually went to a few of his games. He is an amazing soccer player. I love adding sports photos to a senior session because it’s always so much fun.
