About 9 years ago I remember being really morning sick with my 3rd child. I hadn’t told many people I was expecting because I was so early in the pregnancy but I felt like I needed to tell my friend Amy. She was helping me teach our little primary class at church. I didn’t want her to think that I was a jerk when I didn’t say much or was offish. I was just nauseous! When I told her she got a smile on her face and said well that is crazy because I am pregnant too! And we were like a month apart.
We ended up blessing our babies on the same day and low and behold baptizing them the same day too. My friend had her 4th girl and I had (at the time) my 3rd boy. I used to tease when we were pregnant that we could just trade babies and finally get one of the other gender. Notice I said it was a joke!
I had talked to Amy about doing her daughters baptism photos months before had. Honestly I looked forward to it all last year! I’ve watched this little girl grow up and she couldn’t be any sweeter if she tried. She is very shy. If you don’t know her so when I got her to talk to me during her session I felt like I was a total success.
When we got to the west facing side of the temple I noticed they had blocked the street below us off and had some event going on. Their was a lot of people there as well. I usually get a shot with the temple directly behind them but I knew we would stand out like a sore thumb to be there above the huge group of people.
We ended up going over to the famous bench and I grabbed some of my favorite baptism photos that I took all year. I added a bunch from that set because I loved them so much. It helped that Laci, one of my brides last year and her sister in law, was getting her to really giggle. I’m a huge sucker for those year giggling/laughing photos with kids. Mostly because those are always a favorite of my own kids!
